Heinrich (Henry) Traut was one of a handful of pioneers born into a unique time in history - an intersection of the emergence of electronic technology, photography, mass distribution, Cabaret, Jugendstil, and Nautrism. Within his long photographic career was a five year period in which he was a witness to and participant in the first golden era of postcards.

Hidden in the world of postcard collectors for 100 years, these images, which celebrate the optimistic and joyful bursting forth of the twentieth century, became known to the general public only in the twenty-first century - with the advent of online auctions.
